BIOGRAPHY
Krayem Maria Awad (Austria) is a Vienna-based painter and sculptor
born 1948 in (Basir) Syria who supplements his artwork with his own poetry.
1968 Study of telecommunications engineering at the technical College in Vienna.
Enrolment at the Vienna School of Economics.
Attendance at the Vienna Academy of Fine Art.
1970 Lectures in cooperation with the organisation
„North-South Dialogue“.
Member of the editorial of the magazine “Treffpunkte”.
Manifesto “The Position of Women in European Civilisation”.
1977 Direction of the cooperative “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kunst”.
Direction of courses in printing graphics and ceramics
as well as the Summer School for portraiture and Life Studies in Vienna.
1990 Work with video installations, photography and computer graphics.
1994 Studio in Switzerland. Direction of art-workshops and seminars
Numerous one man exhibitions in Europe,
United States of America and Japan.
Participation at famous art expositions: Basel, Hamburg, Salzburg, Vienna,
Graz, Frankfurt, Euro Art Expo Verona, Art Expo New York.
